MPH Skiers Compete
Several MPH students were among 194 athletes, representing nine mountains in Central New York and the Western Adirondack area competing at the Kandahar Festival ski races races last weekend at Labrador Mountain.
Participating from the class of 2025 were Jack Liddy, Devan Trikha, Sebastian Deldique, Jonathan Howard, and Jacob Temes. Also participating were Skyler Buchika from the class of 2026 and Lilah Temes from the class of 2027.
All had a successful meet with Lilah finishing first in the U10 Division on Saturday and Sunday, Skyler finishing 6th on Saturday and 11th on Sunday in the U12 Division, and Jacob in first on Saturday and 3rd on Sunday in the U12 Division. Jacob also finished first in three out of the four runs and was one of two boys selected to participate in the Francis Piche Invitational at Gunstock Mountain in New Hampshire.
Skyler, Jacob, and Lilah qualified for and will be participating in the New York State Kandahar Championship this upcoming weekend with other athletes from across the State.
MPH is looking to bring Alpine Skiing back as a varsity sport next year. We hope to see these athletes and more represent MPH in the future!
