Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon visits 7th grade
Dr. Tina Maxian, mother of 7th grader Kari, visited MPH today to share her work as an Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon with the 7th grade class. She brought in several samples of implants, model bones, and x-rays. Dr. Maxian walked the students through her process of becoming a surgeon and shared several examples of fractures she has worked on and the various means of treating them. Needless to say, her visit inspired many questions! She even donated a model of the human pelvis to our Science Department! The students, Mr. Curtis, and Mr. Vural were amazed to hear first-hand accounts of the advances and capabilities of the medical profession. Thank you, Dr. Maxian!
