MPH eighth grader has impressive finish at States

Eighth grade student Johnny Gruninger placed 25th out of nearly 100 golfers at the 2017 NYSPHSAA Boys Golf Championships at Cornell University June 3-5.  As the youngest competitor in the field, Johnny was a member of the Section III State team after a top nine finish at State Qualifiers. He ranked number three out of the Section III golfers at the event.

Johnny is no stranger to success in golf – he recently played his his first-ever adult amateur event and tied for eighth at the Apogee Investment Management Men’s Golf Championship. 

The MPH Boys Varsity Golf Team had a remarkable season, finishing as League Champions, League Tournament Champions, and Sectional Champions for the third year in a row.  See the team’s 2017 stats here.
