Fall driver education course offered through Manlius Pebble Hill School

Registration for Manlius Pebble Hill School’s fall driver education course is now open. Registration forms and a full description of the 15-week course are available online on the school’s website and through the school’s community programs office by calling 446-2452.

The MPH driver education program, available to students throughout Central New York, begins Saturday, Sept. 7. Approved by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles, the program has three components — classroom instruction in driving techniques and rules, in-car driving observation and behind-the-wheel driving practice.

Classes are taught by certified driver education instructors at three locations — MPH, Fayetteville-Manlius High School, and Chittenango High School. Students who are 16 by the first week of classes and who have a valid learner’s permit may enroll in the course.

Upon completion of the course, students will receive an insurance certificate and Student Certificate of Completion (MV285) from the Department of Motor Vehicles, entitling them to receive a night license at age 17. The course fee, including textbook, is $495.
