MPH Art Students to Attend National Portfolio Day
Six MPH Upper School students will be traveling to Baltimore, MD tomorrow to attend Portfolio Day at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). National Portfolio Days are held in various locations across the United States, Canada and Europe. They are designed to provide a unique opportunity for students to meet individually with professional representatives of colleges and universities and receive valuable feedback on portfolios before submitting them as part of a college application. The college representatives will take time with each student to learn about their work, college plans, and provide information about their institution. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to gain insight on the work they’ve done, ask questions that will guide their college decision-making process, and be inspired by art and design.
Students attending are: Lyla O’Hara, Olivia Bigtree, Autumn Kerr, Katie Pratt, Natalie Halbritter-Eells, and Ana Videto.
Earlier in the school year, a representative from MICA visited MPH and commented that he “rarely sees students working at this level in high school,” and that MPH students are producing “the strongest conceptual artwork” he has seen so far this year. The future looks bright for our aspiring artists and we wish them the best of luck on Portfolio Day!
