MPH Students Win Writing Awards
The Syracuse Federation of Women’s Clubs recently sponsored a writing contest for local students in all grades. The goal of the contest was to provide an outlet for students to express themselves freely, reflecting on their personal experiences to gain inspiration for their writing. Both short stories and poetry submissions were accepted in age categories ranging from kindergarten through grade twelve.
Five members of the The MPH Z Club, advised by Ms. Candace Edwards, decided to submit work and all were award winners! They were:
Kyle Davis, Senior, 1st place, short story
Julia Walsh, Senior, 1st place poetry division
Carli Arbon, Junior, 2nd place, short story
Brittany Grund, Junior, 2nd place, poetry
Bianca Melendez Martineau, Junior, 3rd place, short story
All entries will be resubmitted for a state-level competition in April.
