MPH Senior Wins CNY Young & Amazing Award

It’s no secret to those of us in the MPH community that Senior Nick Jerge is pretty amazing, but now, he’s been officially recognized! At an awards ceremony at the Civic Center on February 9th, Nick was the recipient of the CNY Young & Amazing Award in the Academics, Liberal Arts category.  Sponsored by Syracuse Media Group and several local companies, Nick was joined by 11 other students and a local Boys Lacrosse team for their exceptional abilities and contributions to the community. Awardees ranged in age from 7 to 19 and they were recognized in a wide variety of categories, including “Overcoming Great Odds,” “Environmental,” and “Athletic Sportsmanship.”

The students, who received $500 each, were nominated by teachers, family and community members. Nick’s mother nominated him stating, “Nick is a Renaissance student. He excels in math and science but also has a passion for arts and humanities. He loves knowledge and to impart that knowledge upon others.”
