Manlius Pebble Hill boys basketball back on track with win over Blessed Virgin Mary
The Manlius Pebble Hill boys basketball team kind of needed a win. For its psyche more than anything.
After starting the season 7-2, the Trojans had dropped three of its past four games.
They got back on track Monday with a win over Blessed Virgin Mary, 76-54.
“It is nice to get back off of the slide,” MPH head coach Jeff Ike said. “That (1-3 stretch) was a really tough run for us.”
Dan Byrnes scored 25 points in the win for the Trojans while Duncan Morrison hit four three-pointers during a 17-point night.
“Blessed Virgin Mary runs their stuff very well because they are so well coached. They really get in your face on defense,” Ike said. “That made this a really good win for us. This was our best offensive output of the season. Danny is our go-to guy, but Duncan hitting those shots is big for the rest of the season.”
MPH improved to 9-5 with the win and travels to LaFayette on Friday.
