M&T Jazz Fest: All-County High School All-Star Jazz Band, 5:45 p.m. Friday

BAND MEMBERS: Robert Araujo, Alex Mevec, Malik Clanton, Tyler Santy, saxophones; Kaitlyn DeHority, Christopher Yu, Nick Coggiola, Carson Elias, Jonathan Carpenter, trumpets; Connor Smith, Chris Hotaling, Shawn Davern, Jordan Olinsky, trombones; Ben Carbone, guitar; Daniel Mullarney, pianos Jared Mulcahey, bass; Kevin Mixon Jr., drums; Steve Frank, director.

CLAIM TO FAME: The ensemble features the finest scholastic players from Onondaga County. High schools represented this year are Fayetteville-Manlius, Westhill, Henninger, Bishop Grimes, Jamesville-DeWitt, Liverpool, West Genesee, Manlius Pebble Hill, Baldwinsville’s Baker and Skaneateles. The band “absolutely wowed the audience with their explosive set at the All-County Jazz Festival last March,” Frank says.

WHAT TO EXPECT: Frank will conduct a set that allows the players to display their collective and individual talents. “A tight, hard-swinging set of contemporary big band music performed by some of the finest high school jazz musicians in Onondaga County,” says Frank.
